Last night, MacGyver husband and the kids and I were discussing how I don't say bad words often. Except, according to my husband, I do swear a lot when trying to create some Martha Stewart craft projects. I have to say, at that point, I got real quiet. This latest Martha project really did bring out the worst in me. I can't tell you how many times I came close to throwing in the towel on these fans, but I had already invested so much time and money that I wasn't willing to give up. We won't discuss the words that came out of my mouth, but, in the end, I think it was all worth it. I hope you think so too, but if you would like to make some, don't say I didn't warn you!
But they are so cute. Sometimes those little words just slip out. Martha sometimes brings the worst out in us.....we can blame her for it.
ReplyDeleteLet me be the first to say how wonderful they did turn out, despite all the time, money, and swear words. That is just too funny; I thought Martha was supposed to bring out "good things." Ha! Ha!
ReplyDeleteYour room looks so festive, and you should be proud of yourself.
Many Halloween hugs,
Cindy
Thank you for visiting Red Rose Alley. I'm so sorry you have a sinus infecfion. My husband used to get them. I loved the hanging Haloween faces, especially the owl. It reminds me of my daughter who is working on her Ph.D. right now. Hope you feel better.

Fabulous!!! Martha would be so damn proud. You should hear my potty mouth when the glue gun is in action.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween, dear friend!!!
Well, they were well worth your time and money. I love them! And now I will steal them, too (or at least the idea :)
ReplyDeleteTyla
They are so cute though. She does make everything look so easy it's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteif they caused you a problem, you sure can't tell... your final product looks Halloween-ish...
ReplyDeleteso - tell me - what part of the project caused the %@&!?
They're so cute! Truthfully, though, I think Martha has a staff who does all of these, so you've accomplished even more! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHillarious! We all have something that sends us over the edge! Even after all that stress, They look amazing!
ReplyDeleteCute fans. And how funny that Martha brings out your bad language!
ReplyDeleteHee, hee, hee. I can't imagine you swearing Heather. But you are right...they were definitely worth it. They came out soooo cute. Love them.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Kisses,
♥Ana
But the result is SO NICE, i first thought you bought them!
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable I will have to look for some orange paper and try to make these I love them....next time play loud music so no one can hear you hehehehe ~Spooktackular!! Love Heather
ReplyDeleteYou must have a massive amount of patience. I learned a long time ago that I am no Martha! These are really adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! Those fans are just adorable! I usually go in my laundry room if I "have to" swear because there is almost laundry in the washing machine and it gets quite loud in there. I did get caught by my 5 year old once though...Have a great weekend!

There is simply only one word to describe these and that is...WONDERFUL! Hope you can store them away and use them again next year; they are great and well worth the effort even with all of the fustration.
ReplyDeletethese turned out great...LOL Hugs and sincere wishes for a beautiful weekend xo
ReplyDeleteHi Heather,
ReplyDeleteYou did a amazing job on the fans! I do not use foul language either, except once in a while if I hurt myself, "ship" might come out. oy!
Hey we are only human!:)
Blessings~
I think it's a fantastic idea and wonderful oxymoron, and completely appropriate to swear uncontrolably while doing a Martha project. Have at it. Swear like a sailor.
ReplyDeleteThe fans are To. Die. For.
xo Jeanne.
Oh these are so adorable. What a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so now I have tried to make one and I think I'm just going to throw in the towel. The accordion folding gets on my nerves. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever liked folding paper in grade school. If I happen to finish them I'll let you know. Miss your posts. Hope everything's okay.
