Well, hello! It seems like forever since I've posted! I'd like to say that I've been doing all sorts of wonderful, exciting things, but the truth is, everyday life at Love and Life at Leadora just got in the way! Anyway, I did manage to come up with a new way to display our house numbers.
This was a super easy project which only required a trip to the BadWon't (aka GoodWill) and a visit to the blog, Jones Design Company. First, I found the frame for $3.99 at the BadWon't. After popping out the glass, I glued black cardstock on the cardboard backing that came with the 8x 10 frame. Next, I transferred the numbers from Jones Design Company onto the black cardstock and then colored them in with my chalkboard paint pen. Finally, I hung the frame with wide white ribbon purchased at Joann's with a 40% off coupon. In the end, my house numbers cost less than $10. This is my kind of project...fast and cheap!
So pretty! I love the bow at the top. Your entire door looks cute.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I want your screen door also!
ReplyDeleteLove your number and the door is really cute.
ReplyDeleteFabulous project. Love the fabric garland on your gorgeous door too.
ReplyDeleteSo so so cute.
ReplyDeleteLove the look, if I was walking down the street and saw your house - I'd stop and stare
The banner is adorable too, makes me think I should try to make one for the 4th of July!!
What's on the wall under the window on the right?
Are those plates on the wall next to the door?
I love this!!! Great job! It would make a great housewarming gift too!
ReplyDeleteCute idea! It makes your already beautiful porch even more inviting! I totally understand the - "life getting in the way" dilemma! I haven't been able to keep up with anything lately!

Heather!!! I love this!!
ReplyDeleteI just may have to steal this idea and do something similar with my back door. Good lord. Fabulous.

Well, that's just too sweet! I know what you mean about life getting in the way. I've been pretty lacking in the blogging department lately myself. :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a friendly front porch! Yes, that's right; it seems friendly. From one Heather to another, great project.
ReplyDeleteLove the screen door and the frame, #'s and little bunting is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE this and am going to do it! When we had our house painted, the painters took the house numbers off the porch post. We forgot about them and don't know where they are, but this is so much better and CUTER! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Such a welcoming front porch!
ReplyDeleteLove it. How did you hook the ribbon to the door?
ReplyDeleteYes, how did you attach the ribbon to the door? And also how did you keep the frame from banging against the door without showing something ugly on the back of it inside your house through the glass? I have run into problems with that before with a glass pattern door.
ReplyDeleteHi! Great questions! First, I removed the glass from the frame, so it really was super light. This enabled me to simply attach the ribbon with hot glue to the back of the frame, and then we stapled the other end of the ribbon to the top of my screen door.
DeleteYes, you can see the back of the frame on my door. However, I tried to keep things on the back as neat as possible, and it really doesn't bother me. And that says a lot, since I am a rather obsessive person when it comes to home dec!
mmmm I'm in love with your red screen door and those house numbers complement everything so well!
ReplyDeleteWe just painted our house and I was determined not to put the old numbers back up! My hubby is being patient, but keeps asking what my plans are. I love this! My screen is metal though so I'm hoping that somehow it works...hmm maybe a little wire wrapped through. I love your blog...just found it from pinterest!

Your cute screen door has inspired me to add some elements to my own. I'll be sharing your post at Friday Finds today.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of displaying my house number like that. That's very cute. Everyone always displays their house number the same. It's so boring. I like this. It's cute and different.
ReplyDeleteSaw your screen door on pinterest and wonder where you purchased your door. Was it factory painted or did you paint it? Is the door metal or wooden. Sorry for all the questions but I really want this screen door. Thanks, Margie
ReplyDeleteLove the red/green color scheme. Do you happen to know the color names?
