Going to the library is one of my favorite summer activities, and I am lucky that my library has a great selection of cookbooks. During my latest visit, I found
Cake Pops by Angie Dudley, who is also known as Bakerella. So, after looking through the book and being inspired by all sorts of cake pops in blogland, I dove in and made my own balls of cake...
I must say, although my cake balls weren't nearly as intricate or as pretty as the ones featured in Bakerella's book, they were certainly a big hit here at Love and Life at Leadora. Next time, I want to try to make cake pops, and perhaps try a different flavor combination. Have you dove into the world of cake pops yet?
I have seen those on several blogs, so they must be the newest rage in desserts. They look yummy. Were they hard to make? My little boy would certainly gobble them up. :)

I've never tried a cake pop but I can see from the front cover of that cookbook that I would LOVE to try and make an owl cake pop. Too cute!!

ReplyDeleteummm. how do you make them round? I heard you actually mold them with your hands... was the person who told me that "pulling my leg"???

Those would be so tempting. Just pop one in your mouth. Maybe two. Wait, maybe three.
ReplyDeleteTori would love to make these, and boy would JJ love to eat the chocolate pops you made. Thanks for sharing...I will check my library next week for this one.
ReplyDeleteThey do look delicious Heather...Although I have had cake pops before (made by my brother-in-law's girlfriend) I haven't given making them a try...And I don't think I will be doing any baking any time soon...Yikes! It just gets toooo hot in my little cottage to bake in the summer. You must have air conditioning :-) Enjoy my dear friend.

ReplyDeleteOMG! I can actually say Yes I have! My daughters and I made them for a Bridal Shower as party favors! We dipped some in regular chocolate and some in white chocolate and used colored sugar sprinkles! They were fun and easy to make! We wrapped them in sucker bags and tied them with a ribbon and they were cute little favors! Yummy too!
ReplyDeleteI think yours look great! I haven't tried them yet, but I do have the book :)
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of that before ,it must be dificult to make?
