Guilty Pleasures

According to the web, a guilty pleasure is something one enjoys and considers pleasurable despite feeling guilt for enjoying it.

Well, Trader Joe's fleur de Sel Caramel is definitely one of my newest guilty pleasures...

My mother, Adrienne, from La Vie Quotidienne, first introduced this delectable sauce to me on New Year's Eve, and I've been addicted to it ever since.

It is delicious on a scoop of vanilla icecream...but if you decide to eat a spoonful of this delicious sauce straight from the jar, I won't tell anyone!  Not that I've ever done that!

So last night, along with my Trader Joe's caramel sauce, I indulged in my next guilty pleasure... watching Masterpiece Theater's "Downtown Abbey".

My oldest daughter introduced me to this British television period drama series, and I am hooked!  Every night I can hardly wait to watch an episode.  I'm almost done with Season 1 on Neflix and am recording Season 2.  The characters, the costumes, the stories, the scenery...I love it all!

Now that I've shared mine, what are some of your guilty  pleasures?

  1. I wish we had a Trader Joe's in West MI. That sauce looks yummy. My husband and I eagerly tune into Downton Abbey each Sunday night. A glass of wine in hand is my guilty pleasure when watching those episodes. Hugs.

  2. I just heard about Downtown Abbey too! I watched the whole first season on Netflix and I love it! I absolutely love that period in time :-) Hope you are having a great week!

  3. guilty pleasure - hanging out in my pj's until mid-afternoon on a Saturday... tea cup in hand, computer on my lap & soft music in the background! ah! no rushing out the door to work... yeah!
glad to see you back in blogland - leave it to your mom to find such a tasty "guilty pleasure" & then to actually share it with you so you can't stay away from the freezer. ah! mom's ---- my mom always shares her guilty pleasures of the "tasting kind"...

  4. Well...I can't disagree because I love both of these things too. But I can applaude your excellent taste, even in guilty pleasures.

  5. I'll have to find me some of that Trader Joe's ~ looks yummy!!!
My quilty pleasure would be milk chocolate ~ the kind that melts in your mouth and flavored hot chocolate from Door County ~ Yum!!!

  7. Where have I been? I had no idea Adrienne was your mother! She's so sweet! And obviously the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!
I just bought some caramel and hot fudge sauce yesterday b/c it was half off. It wasn't this brand but I'm sure I can put a dent in them. I've got to watch this series as everyone is raving about it.
