Yesterday marked the beginning of birthday week for my youngest, Willow.  Yes, she has requested not just a day, but an entire week of birthday, and, since she is the baby at Love and Life at Leadora,  she will probably get it!  In fact, in honor of the commencement of her birthday week, I made these tissue paper pom pom decorations for her outdoor birthday table...

Of course, I got this idea from the files of Martha Stewart!   You can find the "how to" here.  Also look on You Tube, as there are some great videos on how to make these tissue paper pompoms as well.  I have to say, they were easy, inexpensive and impressive!   Best of all,  the birthday princess has requested to have them hung above her bed after the celebrations have ended!

With cafe lights and a little HDR-ish from Picnik, these tissue paper pompoms look pretty good at night too...

So next time you have a party, consider these tissue paper pompoms. They are sure to be a hit!

I am thinking about making such for our wedding, but I am a bit worried on how to store them before the big day. Guess I will have to figure something out, because they are really nice looking.

  8. Happy Birthday week :) to Willow! These are too cute for words! Your daughter is going to have a great party! Love the photo of them at night.
I definitely want to try to make some of these. When I taught K-g, we made similar ones on a much smaller scale.

  9. I love the pom poms! I wish my little girl was still at home and wanted something so cute and frilly. I have all boys now so out with the frills and end with the rugged. Of course, what would the 5 year old want but Spider Man. I'm so tired of super heroes! Guess it's a guy thing.
    Happy Birthday to your baby!

Lucky girl, a whole week of celebraton! Loved the pom poms, had to go to Martha and see how to make them! Love the colors you picked! Even though my Kate is 19, I think she'd like them! Might even give them a try for my BF's daughter's baby shower, they will be impressed!
